Logo design and Branding

We design logos and brand identities that make your company look the same on your website, in your online store, in sales decks and on packaging. Depending on the scope, our logo design services include the logo, colors, typography, brand guidelines and templates for your materials.

What a Hilvec brand identity includes

Every project starts with the logo: the symbol and the wordmark, in versions for different uses: primary, one-color and reversed for dark backgrounds. We pair it with a brand color palette specified for print and digital, and with typography: the fonts for headings and body text. Every logo comes with a logo manual, our basic brand guidelines.

A full brand identity also includes templates for the materials your company uses every day: from business cards and proposals, through social media graphics, to packaging and a trade show booth, depending on where the brand is visible. Everything is documented in extended brand guidelines. We scope each project individually: sometimes refreshing an existing logo is enough, sometimes a company needs a complete system from scratch.

How our logo design process works

Discovery call and brief

We start with a conversation about your company: its history, customers, products, competitors and plans. We also ask where the brand will appear most often: in an online store, on packaging, at a trade show booth or on company vehicles. That defines what the logo has to handle.

Market research

We look at the brands you compete with and search for a direction that sets you apart. We compare their logos, colors and typography and look at what appears so often in your industry that customers no longer notice it. We go through these findings with you before we start sketching.

Logo design

We design the mark and test it in real conditions right away: at small sizes, in one color, in print and on screen. That way you know the logo works before it goes to the printer or onto your website.

Identity system

Once the logo is approved, we design the color palette, typography and materials within the agreed scope. We show every element on realistic mockups, so you see the brand in use: on a business card, in a proposal or on a website.

Brand guidelines and files

At the end you get the brand guidelines, a complete set of logo files in vector and bitmap formats (RGB, CMYK and Pantone) and one master working file in .ai. The contract transfers the copyright to the mark to you, so from the day of handover the logo belongs to your company and you can use it without us, including with another printer or agency. As your brand grows, we extend the guidelines with new materials.

A brand identity that works on your website and in your online store

Hilvec also designs Webflow websites, Shopify stores and UX/UI, so we design every brand identity with screens in mind from day one. We check how the logo looks in a mobile website header, whether the brand colors give enough contrast for text and buttons, and whether the mark stays legible as a browser tab icon. That way your new identity needs no rework when it's time for a website or online store.

Sometimes it works the other way around, and the identity grows out of a website project. For Inpro, a property developer in Gdańsk, we designed the colors, typography and icons of the new website, and the company later carried them over to the rest of its advertising, including outdoor ads. If you're planning a new website or online store, we can design it together with your brand identity.

A complete identity for the new premium brand Bodytec20+

Bodytec20+ is the premium sub-brand of Bodytec20, a chain of EMS training studios in Poland. Together with branding agency 3dotsmore.com, we designed its logo, with a symbol combining the letters B and T with a plus sign, and a black-and-brown palette finished with gold foil in print. On top of that: business cards, folders, roll-up banners, client cards, gift vouchers, studio storefronts, sportswear and the brand's website.

Working as a branding agency alongside an interactive agency can carry some risk. Fortunately, working with Hilvec was very smooth, and the projects were delivered on time and on budget. That approach builds trust and understanding.

Logos for Eurooffice and Dlabiura24, whose online stores we design

Warsaw-based Eurooffice supplies businesses and institutions with office supplies, and Dlabiura24 is its online store for retail customers. We have designed the online stores for both brands since 2013. In 2019 Eurooffice got a new logo, because the previous one was difficult and expensive to print and to apply on company vehicles. We combined the letters "e" and "o" with a paper clip and kept the company's colors, and the client approved the very first version. We describe the project in our post about the new Eurooffice logo. With the new version of the store, we also refreshed the Dlabiura24 logo: the signature shopping cart is simpler and the typography more modern. For the same group, we also designed the Packmo and Haay brands.

Blog Kredytowy, a new logo alongside a new website

Blog Kredytowy, run by Michał Dawidowicz, is an expert website about mortgages in Poland. Together with the new blog, we designed a logo with a symbol built from the letters B and K. At the client's request, we kept the blue and navy shades of the previous logo. We also designed social media profiles, business cards, letterhead and email signatures. A personal brand identity for Adrian Prędkiewicz

Adrian Prędkiewicz advises companies on marketing and PR. In 2020 his old logo no longer fit his growing personal brand. We designed a mark built from his initials in which, depending on where you look, you see "AD" or "AP", plus a minimal wordmark of his full name.

From our very first conversations, Karol took the time to understand my needs, then tailored the design to them and delivered it ahead of schedule.

Questions and answers

How much does logo and brand identity design cost?

Logo design at Hilvec starts at $2,500, and a full brand identity starts at $10,000. The final price depends on scope: a logo only, a logo with brand guidelines, or a complete system with business materials, packaging and trade show materials. We prepare a quote after a short call about your business.

What does a brand identity include?

A brand identity includes your logo in several versions, a color palette, typography, brand guidelines and templates for business materials: business cards, letterhead, presentations, proposals and social media graphics. If needed, we add packaging, signage and trade show materials. Everything is documented in brand guidelines, so your brand looks the same in every channel.

What are brand guidelines and do I need them?

Brand guidelines are a document with rules for using the logo, colors, fonts and business materials. You need them when anyone other than you uses the brand, such as your team, a printer or the company building your website, because then everyone uses the logo the same way. A basic set covers logo construction, clear space, minimum size, colors, fonts and examples of incorrect use.

How many logo concepts do I get, and how many revisions are included?

Revisions are not limited: we work on the logo until you are happy with it, with no extra charge for another round. At the first presentation we show one direction for the mark, based on the brief and market analysis, and discuss it with you. If it misses, we go back to sketches; if it works, we refine the details: the shape of the symbol, proportions, colors and typography. After each presentation we write down your feedback and come back with a revised version, so you always know where the project stands.

What is the difference between a logo, brand identity and branding?

A logo is your company's mark. Brand identity is the whole system around it: colors, typography, usage rules and material templates. Branding also covers the brand name, rebranding and rolling the identity out to your website, online store and business materials. That is what our branding agency handles.

Will the logo be mine, and what files do I get?

Yes, the copyright to the logo is transferred to your company in the contract. You get every file you need: vector files for print, vehicle wraps and production in CMYK and Pantone, and bitmaps for your website, presentations and social media in RGB. Each version of the mark comes as a separate file, plus one master working file in .ai, from which any designer can prepare a missing format.

Can you refresh our existing logo instead of designing a new one?

Yes. A refresh makes sense when the mark is recognizable but causes technical problems: it looks bad at small sizes, uses too many colors or cannot be cut from vinyl for a vehicle. We simplify the shape, tidy up the proportions and typography and add the missing versions, while the elements your customers recognize stay. We suggest a new design when the company has changed its profile or name and the old mark says something else.
